1st Anniversary of Solomon Giwa Amu Foundation

The Solomon Giwa-Amu Foundation's 1st Anniversary was celebrated along with the post humos 50th birthday of Late Brig.Gen Solomon Giwa-Amu. This was a way to keep his ideals alive and going. The celebration took place both in Abuja and his home town, Sabongidda Ora. Activities that took place include; Features on NTA AM Express and AIT Kakaaki by the Executive Secretary, Donation of different categories of Books including Strategic Military Leadership, personal Development by the Foundation to the National Defence College Library, a Press conference in Abuja, Memorial Mass, Novelty football match, Awareness Lectures / Awards of Scholarships and donation of Text books in different subjects like; Mathematics, English, Science & technology, Social Studies and Verbal Reasoning were purchased and donated to the Evbiobe Primary School, Sabongidda Ora.

Skill Acquisition

As one of the foundations activities, the foundation, in collaboration with the Directorate of Army Public Relations (DAPR) organised a four weeks skill acquisition program tagged "Building the Bridge from dependence to self sustenance for Youths" This program would be open for JSSCE and SSCE graduates resident in Camp Mogadishu from August 17th - 11th September, 2009, 11A.M at the indoor sports hall, Mogadishu Barracks.
